Day 1: Scenic Train Journey & First Safari Experience
Your adventure begins with a comfortable first-class SGR train journey to Voi, offering stunning views along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly received and transferred through the sanctuary to the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge, dramatically elevated above the plains.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa, followed by an enriching WW1 historical talk and visit to the artifacts museum, where you’ll learn about the region’s fascinating past.
Later in the afternoon, set out on your first guided game drive within Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birdlife.
As the sun sets, return to the lodge for a relaxed dinner overlooking the waterhole, where animals often gather under the stars.

Day 2: Full Safari Day & Unique Wildlife Viewing
Wake up early for a thrilling morning game drive, the best time to spot wildlife at its most active. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
Spend the rest of the morning at leisure—relax, take photos, or simply enjoy the views from your room balcony as wildlife roams freely below.
Later, experience one of Salt Lick’s most unique attractions: viewing wildlife at the waterhole through the underground tunnel, offering close-up, safe, and unforgettable encounters.
After lunch, enjoy free time before heading out for an optional afternoon game drive, capturing golden-hour moments in the sanctuary.
End the day with dinner at the lodge, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the African night.

Day 3: Leisure Morning & Return Journey
Enjoy a relaxed morning with breakfast at the lodge, followed by leisure time to take in final views of the sanctuary.
After checkout, you’ll be transferred back to Voi Train Station for your return first-class train journey, marking the end of a truly memorable safari experience.
